Information regarding the Swedish language

Swedish is a very interesting language.  It is an Indo-European, Germanic language.  This would make it related to such languages as English, German, Danish, and Jutish. About 93% (7,825,000) people speak Swedish in Sweden.  The majority of the rest of the population may speak Norwegian, or Finnish.  In Finland, there is a Swedsih speaking minority of 296,000.  In Canada, 21,680.  And in the U.S., 626,102 people speak Swedish.  Some dialects of Swedish are, Gta, Norrland, and Dalecarlian.  Swedish is a fairly easy language to learn, as far as vocabulary and structure is concerned.  For example, the English equivalents to 'I am', 'he is', 'they are', are 'jag r', 'han r', 'de r', respectively.  Notice that the verb does not change across persons.  People may, however, have a harder time becoming familiar with tones used in Swedish.  In many cases, tones and stresses are put on words, which makes it sound as though the person is singing.  Also, the Swedish language has three extra letters in the alphabet, , , .
